However, her true prowess lies in music, where she has won 20 Guinness World Records.
In 2021, Grande’s song “Positions,” from her sixth studio album of the same name, set the record for the most songs to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This achievement was particularly remarkable as Grande was the only artist in the music industry to have won this record.
On January 18, 2019, Grande released “7 Rings” as part of her fifth studio album, “Thank U, Next.” Within a week, the track amassed 71,467,874 streams on Spotify, earning her the Guinness World Record for the most streamed track on Spotify in one week by a female artist.
Grande secured another world record for the same album when three of its tracks—”7 Rings,” “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” and “Thank U, Next”—peaked at numbers 1, 2, and 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100, respectively, in February 2019. This achievement made her the first solo act to occupy the top three positions simultaneously on the US singles chart, a record previously held only by The Beatles for the UK singles chart.
For these same tracks, Grande also won the record for the fastest hat-trick of UK number one singles, achieving this within 98 days. Following the release of her fifth album, Grande broke the world record for the most simultaneous top 40 entries on the US singles chart by a female artist.
Within a week of its release, “Thank U, Next” amassed 307 million on-demand audio streams in the US and 54 million streams in the UK. These impressive numbers led her to win two more world records: the most streamed album by a female artist in one week in both countries. Additionally, the album’s popularity in the US earned her the record for the most streamed pop album in one week, a title previously held by Ed Sheeran’s “Divide.”
Grande’s “7 Rings” spent three weeks at number one on the UK Official Singles Chart before being replaced by another of her tracks, “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.” This achievement earned her the world record for the first solo artist to replace themselves at number one on the UK Singles Chart for two consecutive weeks in its 66-year history.
In 2020, Grande broke the world record for the most monthly listeners on Spotify for a female artist, with 76,729,036 monthly listeners on the streaming platform. Her next world record came later that year when she was named the most followed woman on Spotify in December, with over 54 million followers at the time. She currently has over 96 million followers on the platform.
In the same year, Grande also broke the world record for the most subscribed female musician on YouTube, with 41.1 million followers. She now has 54.3 million subscribers on the platform. Additionally, Grande holds a record alongside Rihanna for the most MTV VMA nominations for best collaborations, with six nominations each.
In January 2021, Grande became the first female musician with the most followers on Instagram, boasting over 219 million followers at the time. Her follower count has since risen to 387 million.
