Ashik Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi national, has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the “Longest Distance Freefall with a Banner or Flag.” On May 25, Ashik accomplished this feat by skydiving from a plane in Memphis, USA.
Guinness World Records officially recognized Ashik’s achievement on July 1, updating their website with his remarkable accomplishment. Previously, the record for this category was held by Indian skydiver Jitin Vijayan, who freefell a distance of approximately 11,256 meters (36,929 feet 13 inches). Ashik Chowdhury surpassed this record by skydiving with a flag over a distance of 11,368 meters (37,296 feet 58 inches).
