Kansas City, Missouri, witnessed a sweet triumph as Russell Stover, in collaboration with Dimensional Innovations, unveiled the world’s largest box of chocolates at the iconic Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. This colossal creation measures an impressive 30 feet 4.5 inches in width and 15 feet 5 inches in height, weighing approximately 2,300 pounds. Packed inside are over 5,000 pounds of delectable chocolates, ranging in size from 11 to 38 pounds each.
The endeavor, recognized by the Guinness World Records, surpasses the previous record held since 2008 by U.K. chocolate manufacturer Thorntons. The new record-setting box eclipses its predecessor by an astounding 1,891 pounds, now standing at a total weight of 5,616 pounds.
Niccolo Starace, president and CEO of Russell Stover Chocolates, expressed pride in achieving this milestone, stating, “We wanted to do something really special to celebrate our 100th anniversary, and what could be more special than breaking a Guinness World Records title?” Russell Stover, renowned for its premium assorted gift box chocolates, continues to uphold its legacy of excellence and innovation in confectionery.
In addition to setting a new record, Russell Stover used the occasion to benefit its 2023 charitable partner, Feed the Children, through a silent auction held during the celebration. Following its display at the Kauffman Center, the Guinness World Records-winning box will tour Russell Stover’s retail locations, showcasing both its craftsmanship and the spirit of celebration that defines the company’s centennial year.
