The prestigious Travel + Leisure’s Luxury Awards have named Phu Quoc, Vietnam, among the top 10 islands in the Asia-Pacific region. Known for its pristine beaches and luxurious resorts, Phu Quoc secured the 10th spot on the list, a slight drop from its 8th place ranking in 2023, which is now held by Penang, Malaysia.
Thailand dominated the top rankings, with Koh Samui earning the title of Best Island in Asia-Pacific 2024. Last year’s winner, Bali in Indonesia, came in second, followed by Palawan and Boracay in the Philippines, which were ranked third and fourth, respectively. Phuket, another Thai island, maintained its top 5 ranking from last year, underscoring Thailand’s continued prominence in these annual listings.
Phu Quoc’s recognition is further bolstered by the inclusion of four of its resorts among the Best Beach Island Resorts in Vietnam, an increase from two resorts last year. The Regent Phu Quoc and JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa were acknowledged for the second consecutive year. New additions to the list include La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc – MGallery and InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort.
