Recognized by Guinness World Records as the “most accurate lunar phase wristwatch,” the Eternal Calendar’s distinction underscores its exceptional craftsmanship and innovation in horology. The watch’s moon phase complication is a testament to precision, tracking the moon’s irregular orbit of 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.88 seconds with remarkable accuracy. Employing a new reduction gear train with three intermediate wheels, IWC ensures that the lunar display deviates from the actual orbit by only one day every 45 million years, faithfully mirroring the lunar cycle.
