Meximodo’s journey to Guinness World Records began organically as it curated its extensive agave spirit list starting from its grand opening last October. Under the ownership of Le Malt Hospitality, which also operates the Wine Chateau online liquor store, Meximodo meticulously compiled an unparalleled collection that includes renowned tequila brands alongside hidden gems sourced from small, family-owned producers.
Led by executive chef Antonio Carballo, a native of Puerto Vallarta, Meximodo’s team embarked on a quest to Mexico, the birthplace of tequila, to deepen their understanding of the spirit. There, they immersed themselves in the cultivation of agave plants, witnessed the distillation process firsthand, and explored remote villages to uncover rare, artisanal tequilas and mezcals seldom seen in the United States.
