The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has achieved its fifth Guinness World Record, this time for hosting the largest music session. On August 14, 2023, 13,944 students from KISS performed the Indian National Anthem as the largest single group, under the direction of three-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej.
The record-setting performance will be officially released on the eve of Independence Day. The event, held in New Delhi, also featured prominent artists including flute maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia, sarod maestros Aman and Ayaan Ali Khan, and santoor maestro Rahul Sharma.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting its significance for KISS, Odisha, and India. The enthusiastic rendition not only showcased the students’ musical talents but also reinforced KISS’s commitment to education and environmental advocacy.
