Paula, a Croatian law student, achieved a new Guinness World Record for fitness at a gym in Zagreb. The record-setting event was supported by her coach and an enthusiastic crowd.
To ensure precision, Paula marked the gym floor with tape to guide her hand, foot, and chest placements during each burpee. The exercise involved transitioning from a standing position to lying flat on the ground with her chest touching the floor, followed by standing up and executing a small jump before repeating the sequence for three minutes.
Paula, who aimed to conserve energy and increase speed, minimized her jump height despite its inherent difficulty. “It takes a lot of practice,” she explained, noting that while a higher jump might seem easier, it ultimately wastes time.
Despite feeling nervous and nearly giving up in the final minute, Paula persevered with encouragement from her coach. Reflecting on the challenge, she expressed gratitude for the support she received.
Balancing her career at a bank with law studies, Paula’s dedication to fitness began seven years ago after a friend’s suggestion. She has since embraced strength training, emphasizing that weightlifting doesn’t necessarily lead to a bulky physique.
