Spencer Matthews has secured his place in the Guinness World Records by completing 30 marathons in 30 consecutive days across the deserts of Jordan. This remarkable feat, achieved to support Global’s Make Some Noise charity, breaks the previous record for the most consecutive marathons run on sand.
Matthews finished his final marathon in 4 hours and 17 minutes, totaling 1,274.02 kilometers (790.5 miles) of grueling terrain. He shared his accomplishment on Instagram, expressing disbelief and gratitude. “I am now a Guinness World Records holder for running 30 back-to-back marathons on sand. This challenge was undertaken to raise awareness and funds for Global’s Make Some Noise, supporting small charities across the UK,” Matthews wrote.
So far, the fundraising effort has amassed £340,757, with all donations going directly to the charity. Matthews also extended thanks to his support team for their crucial role in this extraordinary journey.
