Jeremy Ware, a 32-year-old from Scottsdale, Arizona, has achieved a new Guinness World Record by making a blindfolded basketball shot from a distance of 60 feet. This accomplishment is Ware’s third world record, following his previous records for the most squats on a Swiss ball in one minute (37) and the farthest backward basketball shot (85 feet, 5 inches).
Ware described the latest challenge as his toughest yet. Unlike his prior backward shot, where he had visual reference to the hoop, this time he relied solely on instinct and muscle memory. Essentially, I’m blindfolded when throwing backward, but I still have a reference point,” Ware told Guinness World Records. “With this one, it’s completely dark. You have to trust the process, trust your gut, and know the shot will go in.”
Despite recently losing his record for the farthest backward basketball shot, Ware is contemplating a comeback to reclaim his title, further enhancing his remarkable record-setting career.
