Zhao Yitong, a 9-year-old student from Songjiang East Road Primary School in Jilin city, has achieved a Guinness World Record for the most double under skips on alternate legs in one minute, completing an impressive 176 skips.
Under the guidance of her coach, Wang Huanan, Zhao began learning rope skipping at age 5 and made a splash in 2021 by winning two championships during her debut in the national online competition. She has since claimed 25 national championships and three international titles.
Wang explained that Zhao’s record attempt involved alternating between both feet and single-foot skips, adding complexity to the challenge. Notably, Wang himself holds a Guinness World Record for the most double under skips with long rope jumping in both one and three minutes.
