In a remarkable display of community spirit, Swiggy, in collaboration with the team behind the film Singham Again, has successfully delivered 11,000 vada pavs to underprivileged children in Mumbai, establishing a new Guinness World Record. This iconic snack, beloved in Maharashtra, was distributed in a single delivery across multiple locations in India’s financial hub. The initiative, which involved vada pavs sourced from MM Mithaiwala, benefited children supported by the Robin Hood Army—an NGO dedicated to combating hunger through surplus food distribution in the city.
The event kicked off at Airport High School & Junior College in Vile Parle, where Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, along with Swiggy Co-founder Phani Kishan, marked the occasion. From there, the vada pavs were distributed to schools supported by the Robin Hood Army in various neighborhoods, including Bandra, Juhu, Andheri East (Chandivali and Chakala), Malad, and Borivali.
“We are elated to have collaborated with Swiggy for this record-breaking delivery of vada pav, bringing food and joy to children,” expressed director Rohit Shetty. He added, “Just like Singham’s larger-than-life personality and strong ethics, this initiative has achieved a meaningful cause.”
