California is set to host a unique event celebrating Mexican culture and culinary artistry as the “Dulces de la Rosa” corporation aims to break the Guinness World Record for the largest marzipan in the world. The event will take place from Friday, October 25, to Sunday, October 27, at Plaza de Las Banderas, located at 20 Civic Center Plaza in Santa Ana.
Dulces de la Rosa, renowned for its delicious peanut mazapanes, announced the ambitious endeavor on its official Facebook page. The event is organized in partnership with “Los 32 por México y Más,” a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Mexican art, culture, and traditions.
The initiative seeks to honor Mexican heritage and showcase the values of the Latino community in the United States. The marzipan is not merely a confection but a symbol of pride rooted in Mexican culture.
This year’s attempt follows Dulces de la Rosa’s previous achievement in 2018 when the company set the record for the largest marzipan, weighing an impressive 8.296 tons, measuring 3 meters in diameter, and standing 1.2 meters high. The monumental sweet required a team of 70 people working for three hours, utilizing 4,343 kilograms of sugar, 4,009 kilograms of peanuts, and 400 milliliters of flavoring. The 2018 creation delighted approximately 130,000 attendees.
Visitors to the upcoming event can look forward to an unforgettable experience that celebrates not only the deliciousness of marzipan but also the rich traditions of Mexico. The event is free to the public, inviting all to participate in this historic culinary milestone.
