The Orlando Science Center is inviting science enthusiasts of all ages to participate in an exciting world record attempt this Saturday. The goal is to break the Guinness World Record for the most people launching paper rockets simultaneously.
The record attempt will take place at the museum’s Dr. Phillips CineDome, with the center hoping to gather at least 250 participants. According to the official guidelines, a paper rocket is defined as a toy made entirely of paper that fits onto a straw. When air is blown through the straw, the rocket takes flight.
Participants wishing to join the record attempt are encouraged to arrive by 10 a.m. on Saturday. The event has limited seating, with space for only 300 attendees, and registration will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be present to officiate the attempt.
JoAnn Newman, president and CEO of the Orlando Science Center, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “At the Orlando Science Center, we focus on creating iconic experiences that ignite curiosity and a love for science. We are excited to welcome the community as we attempt this Guinness World Records title while also emphasizing the STEM skills required to make it happen.”
