A Nigerian doctor has set a new Guinness World Record with a remarkable 10,814.5-square-foot drawing that celebrates the diverse cultures of his homeland.
Fola David-Tolaram, 31, achieved the feat with his artwork titled The Unity of Diversity. Created using waterproof markers on a colossal canvas, the drawing was completed over several days inside a 5,000-seat stadium.
The record-breaking artwork showcases a detailed map of Nigeria, featuring representations of the country’s various peoples and cultural symbols from its different regions.
I wanted to create something that reflects Nigeria’s multicultural identity and offers a platform for people to celebrate their cultures,” David-Tolaram explained to Guinness World Records. “Before I began the drawing, I traveled around Nigeria to experience its diverse cultures firsthand. This journey inspired me and formed the basis for the artwork displayed in the stadium.”
