Alembic Pharmaceuticals has earned recognition from Guinness World Records for its Summit division’s successful hypertension awareness campaign, marking a significant achievement in public health advocacy.
Hypertension, or high blood pressure, affects nearly 28.1% of India’s adult population. However, a large number of individuals remain undiagnosed and untreated, highlighting a critical gap in healthcare. Alembic’s Summit division recognized the urgent need for action and launched a groundbreaking initiative to address this issue.
On World Hypertension Day, May 17, 2024, the Summit division kicked off a week-long campaign aimed at raising awareness and improving hypertension management. The campaign, running from May 13 to 19, 2024, reached out to 15,568 healthcare professionals (HCPs) across India, encouraging them to take an online pledge. This pledge was designed to promote better hypertension management, patient education, and early diagnosis, ultimately aiming to enhance treatment outcomes for those affected by the condition.
By engaging such a large number of healthcare professionals, the campaign not only highlighted the importance of hypertension awareness but also earned Alembic the prestigious Guinness World Record for collecting the most number of pledges for a hypertension campaign.
This achievement underscores Alembic’s commitment to improving healthcare outcomes and raising awareness about hypertension on a national scale.
