Andre Ortolf, a serial Guinness World Records breaker from Germany, has reclaimed two of his former titles by setting new records for drinking one litre of acidic lemon and lime juice in record time.
Ortolf, known for his impressive feats, achieved the fastest time to drink one litre of lemon juice through a straw in just 13.30 seconds. On the same day, he also broke the record for drinking one litre of lime juice through a straw, completing the challenge in 13.51 seconds. Both records had previously been set by Ortolf in 2020, but were broken by US-based David Rush in 2024. With these latest achievements, Ortolf has successfully reclaimed both titles.
Explaining his technique, Ortolf revealed that speed and precision were crucial in achieving the records. “It’s very important to pull quickly from the straw,” he said. “My technique is to swallow as little as possible and let the juice run down. That way, I save time.” Ortolf’s intense preparation included hours of practice, during which he honed his skill by drinking large quantities of water to simulate the challenge.
Ortolf’s love for “eating and drinking records” drove him to attempt both challenges on the same day. Despite the difficulty, he was highly motivated. “Doing both on the same day was probably not the best idea,” Ortolf admitted. “But I was very motivated and had the witnesses there already, so I thought, ‘Why not give it a try?'”
The lime juice record, he noted, proved to be more challenging than the lemon juice one, possibly due to its higher acidity. “It’s definitely more intense,” he said of the lime juice challenge.
Ortolf’s latest accomplishments bring his total number of broken records to over 500, with more than 100 currently under his belt. His ultimate goal, he says, is to become the holder of the most Guinness World Records titles.
Ortolf’s incredible achievement adds to his growing legacy of world records, underscoring his dedication and passion for pushing human limits.
