Marbles Kids Museum, a beloved institution in downtown Raleigh that has provided a place for families to learn and play for nearly two decades, has earned a nomination as one of the best children’s museums in the United States for 2025. Fans of the museum are invited to cast their votes to show support for the local gem.
USA Today’s 10best.com is hosting a poll, asking readers to vote for their favorite children’s museums. Marbles Kids Museum is among the nominees for the prestigious title.
“While marbles are a key feature—over a million of them are embedded within the museum’s walls—there’s much more to explore,” 10best.com notes. “The museum offers a wide variety of hands-on exhibits, including imagiFAB, a creative space where children can build and innovate, and EcoSphere, which teaches young visitors about renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and hydropower. In addition to the engaging exhibits, the museum hosts events like the Future Me Fair and FairyTale Tea, making it a fun and educational destination for families.”
Located at 201 E. Hargett St., directly across from Moore Square, Marbles Kids Museum opened its doors in September 2007. Beyond its interactive exhibits and play spaces, the museum offers camps during school breaks and features an IMAX theater for educational and entertainment purposes.
Supporters of the museum are encouraged to vote for Marbles as the top children’s museum, further solidifying its place as a favorite among families in Raleigh and beyond.
