The 2025 World Watch List (WWL) by Open Doors reports increasing violence against Christians globally. In countries like Yemen, Somalia, Myanmar, and Sudan, Christians face threats ranging from physical violence to forced isolation. Yemen, in particular, ranks third due to its ongoing civil war, which has exacerbated dangers for religious minorities. Christians are detained, harassed, and forced into difficult living conditions. Similarly, countries like Nigeria, Pakistan, and other African nations continue to experience high levels of violence, with militant groups targeting Christians.
Despite these threats, some nations like Indonesia and Colombia have seen improvements in Christian safety due to political shifts and ceasefires. However, overall, the persecution of Christians remains severe in many parts of the world, particularly in the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa, with millions facing violence, detentions, and forced displacement.
