A 28-year-old photographer from Yobe State, Saidu Abdulrahaman, has officially entered the Guinness World Records for taking the most headshot photographs in one hour.
In September 2024, Abdulrahaman achieved this remarkable feat by photographing 897 students at Government Day Secondary School in Potiskum, Yobe. The photographer managed to capture all 897 headshots in just 60 minutes, breaking the previous record for most headshots taken within the same time frame.
After successfully accomplishing the challenge, Abdulrahaman was awarded the coveted Guinness World Records certificate. In a ceremony marking the achievement, he presented the certificate to Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
“This achievement is not just mine; it belongs to every Nigerian who believed in me, supported me, and cheered me on from start to finish,” Abdulrahaman said. “It represents not only my dedication and hard work but also the unwavering support of my family, friends, mentors, and all the well-wishers who stood by me. Every message of encouragement, every prayer, and every bit of motivation played a crucial role in making this dream a reality.”
The photographer acknowledged that breaking a world record is no easy task. “It requires focus, skill, endurance, and most importantly, the support of a strong community,” he said. “I dedicate this milestone to all Nigerians, showing that with determination, anything is possible. This record proves that we are capable of achieving greatness on the global stage.”
Governor Buni commended Abdulrahaman’s achievement, calling it an inspiration to the youth of Yobe and beyond. He urged young people to pursue their dreams, despite the challenges they may face.
The governor also expressed his administration’s commitment to fostering talent across various fields. He emphasized the need to create opportunities for young achievers to receive the recognition and resources they need to succeed.
Abdulrahaman’s accomplishment is not just a personal victory but also a significant moment for Yobe State, highlighting the potential of young Nigerians on the international stage.
