Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization chief, Mohammad Eslami, proudly proclaimed Iran’s status among the top five countries in the nuclear industry, citing significant achievements in the peaceful nuclear energy program. Speaking on Tuesday, Eslami underscored Iran’s strides in various nuclear-related fields, particularly highlighting the production of high-quality heavy water, a crucial component in nuclear technology.
According to Eslami, Iran’s heavy water production, achieved without foreign assistance, places the nation at the forefront globally, both in terms of quality and purity. He emphasized Iran’s self-reliance in heavy water production and its growing presence in the global heavy water market, enabling the country to supply and export heavy water internationally. Notably, heavy water holds applications beyond nuclear energy, including in microelectronics and pharmaceuticals.
Despite facing obstacles due to U.S. sanctions, Eslami emphasized Iran’s resilience and technological advancement in nuclear and space domains. Iran’s progress, he noted, remains steadfast, reflecting the nation’s commitment to its nuclear energy program and compliance with international regulations, including its collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Addressing participants at the Bahman 22 rallies commemorating the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Eslami delivered a defiant message to Iran’s adversaries, asserting the country’s unwavering commitment to its development, including its nuclear aspirations. He underscored the pivotal role of nuclear technology in national development across scientific, technological, and industrial sectors, despite attempts to impede Iran’s progress.
Highlighting the Iranian people’s resilience and support for the Islamic Revolution, Eslami dismissed external efforts to hinder Iran’s advancement, including through the targeting of nuclear experts or sabotage attempts. He reassured that Iran stands resilient against such adversities, guided by its determination, indigenous research, and self-belief.
Eslami concluded by reiterating Iran’s position as a frontrunner in scientific progress globally, emphasizing the nation’s strides in radiopharmaceutical production, heavy water manufacturing, and the pursuit of nuclear power generation. He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to further advancements in nuclear technology, in line with the objectives outlined by the country’s leadership, including Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s vision of achieving 20,000 megawatts of nuclear power.
