The renowned Italian pizza guide, 50 Top Pizza, unveiled its list of the best pizzerias worldwide, and Est Ovest secured an impressive position at number 45 among the top 50 pizzas in the Asia-Pacific region. This ranking places the Adelaide pizzeria among the elite, affirming its place in the global pizza scene.
South Australia’s First Global Recognition
Est Ovest’s inclusion in the coveted list is a historic milestone, making it the first South Australian restaurant to be featured. The guide, based in Italy, is known for evaluating and recognizing the world’s finest pizzerias. Ten Australian pizzerias made the 2025 list, with Est Ovest standing out as a key representative of South Australia.
In a statement shared on social media, Est Ovest expressed its excitement, noting, “This means we’re not just a top pizza spot in SA or Australia, but among the best across two continents. How big is that?” The message also emphasized the restaurant’s local significance, saying, “You don’t have to travel far to taste a pizza that meets global standards. You’ll find it right here in Adelaide, at 111 Angas Street.”

Est Ovest is renowned for its traditional Italian pizzas, crafted by skilled Italian chefs. The menu boasts a variety of options, from classic Margherita to Capricciosa and even a pork and fennel sausage pizza. One of the standout offerings is the signature Est Ovest pizza, featuring a beautifully cooked base topped with mushrooms, buffalo ricotta, Prosciutto di Parma aged for 20 months, and a drizzle of truffle oil. In addition to its pizza selection, the menu includes steaks, pastas, sides, and Neapolitan fried pizza balls.
Global Pizza Landscape
The top spot in the 2025 50 Top Pizza guide was claimed by The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo, led by Rome-native Daniele Cason. This exclusive pizzeria serves just two pizzas at a time, dividing them into four portions for a select number of guests. The first Australian entry on the list is Melbourne’s SHOP225 in Pascoe Vale, which secured a remarkable fifth place.
