Cape Town International Airport has earned top honors once more, being named Africa’s Best Airport and taking the title of Best Airport Staff Service in Africa at the 2025 World Airport Awards in Madrid, Spain, last Wednesday.
Regarded as the gold standard in airport rankings, the World Airport Awards evaluate more than 575 airports worldwide, focusing on passenger experience and services. The rankings are based on Skytrax’s World Airport Survey, which gathers feedback from travelers of over 100 nationalities. This survey, conducted between August 2024 and February 2025, covers key aspects such as check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration, and boarding.
In global rankings, Singapore’s Changi Airport claimed the coveted title of World’s Best Airport for 2025. This marks the airport’s 13th win in the award’s history. Additionally, Changi also took home awards for Best Airport Dining, Best Airport Washrooms, and Best Airport in Asia.
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted praised Changi’s consistent excellence: “It is a great achievement for Singapore Changi Airport to receive the highest award for the 13th time, setting a new record. The diversity and quality of dining outlets are also outstanding, earning it the World’s Best Airport Dining award.”
