Dubai, UAE – One Za’abeel, the renowned landmark developed by ICD (Investment Corporation of Dubai), has clinched the prestigious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the ‘Longest Cantilevered Building’ globally, with its breathtaking panoramic sky concourse, The Link. This milestone achievement was officially recognized on March 1st, 2024, adding another extraordinary accolade to Dubai’s illustrious portfolio of record-breaking architectural marvels.
The Link, spanning an impressive length of 230 meters, gracefully traverses One Za’abeel’s skyscrapers, soaring 100 meters above the ground. Notably, its record-breaking cantilever extends a remarkable 67.277 meters beyond the development’s primary tower. The construction of The Link, a testament to advanced engineering and meticulous planning, unfolded in two phases over a span of 16 days, all while maintaining uninterrupted traffic flow in the four lanes below. Phase one of the project witnessed a monumental achievement as the steel structure, weighing over 8,500 tonnes, was expertly maneuvered into place over 12 days, employing over 110 special jacks and heavy-duty strand jacks. Phase two marked another feat as the 900+ ton cantilevered structure was seamlessly lifted into position over four days, further showcasing the collaborative efforts of a diverse team of global experts in construction, engineering, and contracting.
The Link, suspended majestically above the cityscape, offers a captivating experience with its 230-meter expanse hosting eight Michelin-inspired restaurants, the UAE’s longest suspended infinity pool, and an elegant destination bar.
