The journey to this record-breaking achievement began with Kohler’s previous attempt at the record four years ago, which unfortunately fell short due to technical disqualification – the absence of a bag attached to the lawnmower. During the grueling 48-hour endeavor, Kohler adhered to the stringent rules of marathon record attempts, allowing himself just five minutes of rest for every hour of activity. Despite facing extreme physical and mental challenges, including persistent backache from bending over the table to retrieve balls, Kohler persevered with unwavering resolve.
As the hours passed, Kohler encountered increasing exhaustion and discomfort, with lower back pain, shoulder and neck pain, blisters, and burns on his fingertips. Nevertheless, his determination remained unshaken.
In a testament to his resilience, Kohler managed to walk 5 miles around the table, utilize over 5,000 balls, execute 2,445 shots, and successfully land 1,816 of them. This remarkable achievement not only earned him the title of the most pool trick shots completed in 48 hours but also shattered his own records for the most pool trick shots completed in one hour and 24 hours.
