An Indiana couple has earned a Guinness World Record for their impressive collection of 2,022 jigsaw puzzles.
John Walczak and his wife, Kyle, residents of Carmel, began their jigsaw puzzle collection in 2019. What started as a casual hobby quickly turned into an addiction to buying, solving, selling, and trading puzzles.
“We did that first one and it was fun, so we decided to keep going,” John Walczak shared with The Indianapolis Star.
Kyle Walczak elaborated on the appeal of jigsaw puzzles: “It’s the little dopamine hit every time you place a piece, and, yeah, just to be able to switch your mind and lose yourself in whatever kind of image you’re trying to create.”
Their dedication has paid off, as they now hold the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of jigsaw puzzles, totaling 2,022 items.
To manage their vast collection, the Walczaks use a spreadsheet to keep track of the puzzles they own and those they have completed.
While they enjoy participating in jigsaw puzzle competitions, the couple admits they rarely finish fast enough to place. Nevertheless, their passion for puzzles remains unwavering.
