The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL) has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the highest number of pledges for dermatological disease awareness within 24 hours. The record-setting campaign took place on May 5 and 6, 2024, amassing an impressive 9,405 pledges from certified dermatologists nationwide. The official announcement was made on Saturday, May 18, at the IADVL headquarters in Delhi.
Prominent figures from the IADVL were present at the declaration event, including Dr. Manjunath Shenoy, President; Dr. BK Katakam, Secretary General; Dr. Rajeev Sharma, President-Elect; Dr. Vijay Zawar, Immediate Past President; Dr. Kavitha SB, Treasurer; and Dr. Vikas Shankar, Joint Secretary. Dr. Shenoy expressed his enthusiasm for this historic achievement.
IADVL Jammu & Kashmir branch President Dr. Yasmeen Jabeen Bhat and Secretary Dr. Shagufta Rather thanked all the IADVL members from Jammu & Kashmir for their active participation in the pledge submission.
“This world record is a testament to the dedication of the IADVL to advancing dermatology care, fostering public awareness, bringing positive change in the lives of those afflicted by dermatological diseases, and curbing the menace of quackery,” they stated.
Notably, the J&K branch ranked second in participation, with 98% of its members contributing to the pledge submission.
