Post Malone’s collaboration with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help,” continues its reign at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart for a third consecutive week. Debuting at the summit two weeks earlier, the track marks Post Malone’s sixth chart-topper and Wallen’s second.
An interesting note about “I Had Some Help” is its unique achievement: it is among 27 tracks that have topped both the Hot 100 and the Hot Country Songs chart, utilizing the same multimetric methodology. However, what sets it apart is that it is the first song to debut at No. 1 on both lists and maintain its position for the first three weeks on each. Another notable mention is Oliver Anthony Music’s “Rich Men North of Richmond,” which led in its first two weeks on each list last August-September.
In a noteworthy debut, Zach Bryan enters the Hot 100 at No. 6 with “Pink Skies.” This marks the singer-songwriter’s third top 10 hit on the chart.
The Hot 100 amalgamates various metrics including all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and video), radio airplay, and sales data. Notably, digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts as of June 8, 2024, will update on Billboard.com on June 4. “I Had Some Help” continues its stronghold at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with 52.4 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 24%), 47.4 million official streams (down 14%), and 15,000 sold (down 25%) in the U.S. from May 24-30. The track drops to No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales chart after two weeks at No. 1. It maintains its No. 2 position on Streaming Songs after debuting at No. 1 and jumps 9-5 on Radio Songs. Impressively, it achieves the top five on Radio Songs in just its fourth week, marking the fastest ascent to the region since Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” in January-February 2023. It is also the first song ever to hit the Radio Songs top five in just four weeks while also reaching the Country Airplay chart’s top five. Additionally, it climbs 8-4 on Country Airplay, enters the Adult Pop Airplay top 10 (13-10), and rises to 15-14 on Pop Airplay.
Meanwhile, “Pink Skies” by Zach Bryan debuts at No. 6 on the Hot 100 with 31.6 million streams, 166,000 in radio reach, and 10,000 sold. The track is anticipated to be part of his upcoming project, reportedly titled The Great American Bar Scene. This marks Bryan’s third Hot 100 top 10 hit after “I Remember Everything,” featuring Kacey Musgraves, debuted atop the chart last September, and “Something in the Orange” reached No. 10 in January 2023.
“Pink Skies” simultaneously debuts at No. 1 on the multimetric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs charts, marking Bryan’s third leader on each list. On Hot Country Songs, “Pink Skies” enters at No. 3, making it Bryan’s 10th top 10 hit.
In a fun fact, “Pink Skies” becomes the fourth Hot 100 top 10 hit to include “pink” in its title over the chart’s history of nearly 66 years. Other notable tracks include Dodie Stevens’ “Pink Shoe Laces” (No. 3 peak, 1959), Natalie Cole’s “Pink Cadillac” (No. 5, 1988), and John Mellencamp’s “Pink Houses” (No. 8, 1984). Additionally, Pink Floyd, PinkPantheress, and Frijid Pink have all achieved top 10 hits on the Hot 100.
