Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby” has made history by becoming the first song to lead the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart for at least five consecutive weeks. The song secured its fifth straight week at No. 1 on the chart dated June 15, reflecting activity from June 3-9.
The TikTok Billboard Top 50 is a weekly ranking of the most popular songs on TikTok in the United States, based on metrics such as video creations, views, and user engagement. This chart is unique in that TikTok activity does not influence other Billboard charts.
“Million Dollar Baby” is now just one week shy of matching the record held by Mitski’s “My Love Mine All Mine,” which spent six weeks at No. 1 in late 2023, although Mitski’s reign was split into two three-week segments.
The song gained traction after Richman posted a viral clip of the then-unreleased track on TikTok on April 13, which has amassed nearly 13 million views as of June 13. Following its official release on April 26, the track has become the centerpiece of a popular dance trend on the platform.
In addition to its TikTok success, “Million Dollar Baby” has climbed to No. 2 on the multimetric Billboard Hot 100. It is currently No. 3 on the latest list, driven by 45.2 million official U.S. streams, 35.2 million radio audience impressions, and 7,000 downloads in the week ending June 6, according to Luminate.
Sexyy Red and Drake’s “U My Everything” has risen to No. 2 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 in its second week, spurred by a viral trend involving users asking their significant others for likes in exchange for various outcomes. Despite this rise, the song fell to No. 49 on the Hot 100 after debuting at No. 44, with 9.5 million streams, 1.8 million audience impressions, and 1,000 downloads.
Lay Bankz’s “Tell Ur Girlfriend” dropped to No. 4, while Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” ascended to No. 3. Eilish’s track from her new album “Hit Me Hard and Soft” has seen sustained popularity, particularly with the “Birds of a feather/ we should stick together” line being used in videos featuring friends, family, and pets. The song garnered 28.4 million streams, 985,000 audience impressions, and 3,000 downloads, pushing it to No. 1 on the Alternative Streaming Songs chart, marking Eilish’s ninth chart-topper in that category.
Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” holds the No. 5 position on the TikTok Billboard Top 50, while 310babii, OhGeesy, and BlueBucksClan’s “Rock Your Hips” debuts at No. 6, propelled by a dance trend since its release on May 3. “Rock Your Hips” is 310babii’s second charting song, following “Soak City,” which peaked at No. 17 in November. The track garnered 883,000 streams in the week ending June 6.
Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” debuts in the top 10, landing at No. 10. The song was officially released on June 7 after being teased on TikTok on June 5, where it has since garnered 2.8 million views. A performance video from Carpenter’s set at Governors Ball in New York has also attracted over 12 million views. User-generated content featuring the song includes makeup tutorials, lip syncs, and more.
The full impact of “Please Please Please” will be seen on the Billboard charts dated June 22.
