Actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have been honored with two Guinness World Records titles in anticipation of their upcoming film, Deadpool & Wolverine.
During an interview on ITV’s This Morning with host Alison Hammond, the Marvel superheroes received a surprise presentation of official Guinness World Records certificates.
Reynolds, also known as co-owner of Wrexham AFC, was first awarded a certificate recognizing the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham, Wales, UK, as the oldest international football ground, with a history spanning 147 years and 31 days as of April 5th.
“This means so much to me and my Welsh ancestors,” Reynolds remarked gratefully.
Following this, both actors were presented with a joint certificate celebrating Deadpool & Wolverine for achieving the title of the most viewed movie trailer in 24 hours. The trailer, which premiered during Super Bowl LVIII, amassed an impressive 365 million global views across all platforms on February 11th-12th.
“What? One million for every day of the year, that’s so awesome!” exclaimed Reynolds upon receiving the news.
Before the surprise, Reynolds shared a nostalgic moment, recalling Jackman’s previous Guinness World Records achievement on This Morning five years ago.
In 2019, Jackman fulfilled a lifelong dream by securing a world record for the longest career as a live action Marvel superhero, as recognized by Craig Glenday, Editor-In-Chief of Guinness World Records.
During the interview, Hammond also queried the duo about their collaboration on Deadpool & Wolverine.
Jackman praised Reynolds, stating, “He is singular, as a writer, as a producer, as a co-star. Honestly the best I’ve ever seen.”
To which Reynolds humorously responded, “As a co-star and a dance partner, I have had better. ‘Better’ is actually the legal name of my last co-star.”
The camaraderie and achievements of Reynolds and Jackman continue to capture the admiration of fans and industry peers alike as they prepare to showcase their latest collaboration on the silver screen.
