Hussein al-Sheihani, an Iraqi paraglider pilot, has secured his place in the Guinness World Records by flying with the largest Iraqi flag atop his paramotor trike.
In a statement to the press, al-Sheihani expressed pride in achieving this feat despite the technological and financial advantages enjoyed by athletes from other nations. He emphasized the significance of this achievement in the realm of air sports, asserting that it surpasses capabilities of athletes from countries with greater resources.
Al-Sheihani detailed the rigorous training regimen spanning eighteen months that preceded his record-setting flight. He highlighted overcoming various challenges through a dedicated scientific approach, ultimately raising a flag measuring an impressive 270.25 square meters during powered paragliding.
The Iraqi paraglider pilot concluded, “Despite the inherent limitations of this type of flight, we managed to devise and execute a comprehensive training program independently, leading to the successful attainment of this record.”
