In a recent ranking by WalletHub, three Southern California community colleges were recognized as some of the best in the nation. The ranking, which evaluated 650 schools across the country based on factors like cost, student-faculty ratio, and graduation rates, highlighted the excellence of these institutions.
Top-Ranked Southern California Community Colleges:
Irvine Valley College, Irvine – Ranked No. 6
Moreno Valley College, Riverside County – Ranked No. 12
Saddleback College, Mission Viejo – Ranked No. 14
These colleges stand out for their commitment to providing high-quality education and opportunities for their students. Additionally, California as a state was ranked 17th in the nation for having some of the best community colleges, with Maryland taking the top spot.
Other Southern California schools that made the list include Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Golden West College in Huntington Beach, and Pasadena City College, among many others.
Jennifer L. Steele, a professor at American University, emphasized the importance of community colleges, stating, “The magic of community colleges is that they can be a gateway to so many opportunities,” whether it be for technical training, trades, or as a cost-effective pathway to four-year degrees.
The top position on WalletHub’s list went to Kansas’ Manhattan Area Technical College, with Missouri’s State Technical College and Kansas’ Pratt Community College rounding out the top three.
