Ram Phal, 50, from Uttar Pradesh, India, has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest time standing on one leg while blindfolded. Phal balanced on his right leg for 2 hours and 21 minutes, surpassing his previous record by 20 minutes.
Phal, who has previously broken this record three times—once in 2021 and twice in 2023—expressed his motivation for the feat: “Despite my age, I am determined to make my mark in the Guinness World Records before my time is up. I strive to test my limits and set a high benchmark.”
Achieving this record requires not just balance, but significant core and leg strength, along with focus. The challenge intensifies with the addition of a blindfold, making the task notably difficult.
Phal’s journey began in 2021 with a record of 1 hour and 6 minutes. After his record was surpassed within a month, he reclaimed it with 1 hour and 38 minutes last summer and then became the first to exceed two hours. His latest achievement further extends his record and honors his father, a dedicated fan of Guinness World Records.
