LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new Guinness World Record has been set at Kingpin in Jeffersontown, Louisville, where bowlers Steve Wiseman, Trace Wiseman, Kyle Reed, and Erik Howard achieved the record for the most strikes in a 24-hour period by a team of four.
The bowlers surpassed the initial record of 1,200 strikes around 1:45 p.m. on the day of their attempt, with over 10 hours still remaining. The team continued to bowl to raise the record even higher. Friends of the bowlers monitored the strikes and recorded the event on video for verification, as no official Guinness representative was present.
This achievement marks the third world record for Steve and Trace Wiseman. They previously set records for the most pins knocked down in 24 hours by both teams of two and four.
Steve’s daughter, Angie Smith, played a crucial role in managing the event, ensuring continuous video coverage and overseeing the raffle organized to support the Friend for Life Cancer Support Network. The raffle, featuring autographed PBA merchandise and a signed bowling ball, raised funds for the charity, which supports individuals affected by cancer.
Smith, an 8-year breast cancer survivor, expressed pride in her family’s accomplishment and dedication to the cause. “Despite the blisters and sleep deprivation, it’s all worth it,” she said.
