Deepu V, an Indian memory expert, has achieved a remarkable new Guinness World Record by memorizing 14,000 digits of Euler’s number (e). This accomplishment surpasses the previous record of 10,122 digits, according to daily.afisha.ru.
Euler’s number, which begins with 2.71828, is known for its infinite, non-repeating sequence of digits after the decimal point. To validate his record, Deepu V underwent a rigorous verification process that included being blindfolded and ensuring no external devices were used. The rules stipulated that he could not make any mistakes or take pauses longer than 15 seconds. Despite these stringent conditions, Deepu completed the task in just 49 minutes.
Deepu V’s extraordinary memory skills have been evident since childhood. He can recall over 5,000 phone numbers and previously set a record for reciting 2,000 digits of pi. For his latest achievement, Deepu developed a unique method: he organized the 14,000 digits into four pages, each featuring a table with 10 columns and 20 rows of five-digit numbers.
His training was intense and meticulously planned. From Monday to Thursday, he memorized 250 numbers daily, dedicating the remaining days to reviewing and reinforcing the material. Deepu also recorded his practice sessions on video for quality control. After four months of rigorous preparation, he succeeded in setting a new standard in memory performance.
