In an audacious display of automotive stuntmanship, a professional stunt driver has set a new Guinness World Record by executing a bungee jump inside a car in Paris.
The feat, organized by Nissan France, took place in the Paris Business District of Puteaux. The stunt was performed by Laurent Lasko, a renowned professional stuntman and race car driver. He drove a Nissan Qashqai e-Power, which was securely attached to eight bungee cords.
From a crane towering 213 feet and 3 inches above the ground, the car was released in a spectacular bungee jump, setting a new record for the highest car bungee jump. This height precisely matched the Guinness World Records‘ criteria for the title.
Jérôme Biguet, Marketing Director at Nissan, noted that the car’s extreme sports activities, previously featured in TV commercials—where it engaged in skateboarding and paintball—made the bungee jump a natural progression. “This stunt seemed like a logical next step,” Biguet explained, highlighting the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive marketing.
The successful execution of this record-breaking stunt not only showcases the capabilities of the Qashqai e-Power but also reinforces Nissan’s innovative approach to promoting its vehicles. The stunt’s execution in Paris adds a touch of French flair to the world of automotive records, combining precision engineering with thrilling spectacle.
