WILLIAMSON COUNTY — Williamson County Schools have achieved a new milestone in academic excellence with the highest number of Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diplomas and AP Seminar and Research Certificates awarded to students.
The Class of 2024 at Fairview High School and other district schools has set a new district record with 114 AP Capstone Diplomas and 64 AP Seminar and Research Certificates. This surpasses the previous record set in 2023, which saw 59 AP Capstone Diplomas and 45 AP Seminar and Research Certificates.
The AP Capstone Diploma is awarded to students who score a three or higher in AP Research, AP Seminar, and four additional AP exams. The AP Seminar and Research Certificate is given to students who achieve a score of three or higher in AP Research and AP Seminar, but who do not meet the additional AP exam requirements.
Students from Fairview, Independence, Page, Ravenwood, and Summit high schools were among the record-setting recipients.
This achievement highlights the commitment of Williamson County Schools to advancing educational standards and providing students with opportunities to excel in rigorous academic programs.
