Chicago’s Adalina, a popular Italian restaurant, has launched what is claimed to be the most expensive martini in the United States: the $13,000 Marrow Martini. This opulent cocktail represents a unique collaboration between Adalina and Marrow Fine, a luxury jewelry brand located directly below the restaurant.
The Marrow Martini is a sophisticated concoction featuring smoked heirloom tomato mezcal and is paired with an extravagant nine-carat diamond tennis necklace, adorned with 150 diamonds set in 14k gold. The creation of this lavish drink was overseen by Colin Hofer, Adalina’s general manager and Michelin Guide’s 2022 Sommelier of the Year.
Jillian Sassone, founder of Marrow Fine, expressed her excitement about the collaboration: “Each time I visit Adalina, I’m impressed not only by the dishes but also by the vibrant energy of the restaurant. The $13,000 Marrow Martini is a playful extension of that excitement, and I anticipate it will create some very memorable experiences.”
While Chicago is no stranger to high-end dining and drinks, the Marrow Martini sets a new benchmark in luxury cocktails. The duration of this extravagant offering remains uncertain, but it’s clear that the price tag ensures it will remain a rare indulgence for those with significant means.
The question remains: if this martini is the priciest in the U.S., what’s the costliest one globally, and how can we sample it?
