Irish teen magician Cillian O’Connor has achieved a new Guinness World Record by performing the most magic tricks in a single minute. The 15-year-old from County Meath, who gained prominence last year by finishing third on Britain’s Got Talent, executed 28 tricks in just 60 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 14 tricks.
O’Connor’s impressive feat is featured in the latest edition of the Guinness World Records, now available for purchase. The 2024 edition includes a special “Young Achievers” chapter, showcasing exceptional talents from children around the globe, with O’Connor among the eight standout young individuals highlighted.
The 2024 Guinness World Records book also features other remarkable achievements. Ruth Amos, 34, and Shawn Brown, 33, from Sheffield, England, have set a new record for constructing the largest electric toothbrush, affectionately named George in tribute to the 11-year-old who proposed the idea on their YouTube channel, Kids Invent Stuff.
In Reading, England, dogs Bonnie and Simba, along with their owner Olga Jones, have earned four Guinness World Records, including the fastest time to complete 10 side leapfrog jumps by two dogs.
In the United States, Sabrina Dausman, 27, from Illinois, has set the record for the largest collection of Squishmallows, amassing an impressive 1,523 of the popular plush toys.
Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief at Guinness World Records, celebrated the publication’s milestone, stating, “Guinness World Records 2025 marks 70 years of the publishing sensation that has sold over 150 million copies.” He added, “This new edition, fully revised and updated with over 1,000 images, celebrates our platinum anniversary and continues the tradition of showcasing the latest record-breaking feats.”
Glenday noted that over the past year, nearly 30,000 applications were reviewed, resulting in a book filled with thousands of fascinating facts and records for all to enjoy.
