South Wales Among the UK Regions with Highest Electricity Bills, Study Reveals

A recent study has highlighted that South Wales ranks among the areas with the highest average annual electricity bills in the UK.

Conducted by Utility Bidder, the research examined various regions to determine average energy costs, focusing on annual bills, energy unit prices, and fixed costs, as well as the increase in energy prices from 2019 to 2023.

According to the findings, Merseyside and North Wales topped the list with an average domestic electricity bill of £1,353—£95 higher than the East Midlands. South Wales followed closely in seventh place, with an annual bill averaging £1,286, underscoring the financial burden faced by residents in the region.
