Couples in New York City may want to rethink their wedding destination, as a new study has revealed that Long Island, New York, is the priciest place to get married in the United States. According to research conducted by GroomsDay, the average cost of a wedding on Long Island comes to a staggering $58,245.
“Here’s the thing – a $60,000 wedding doesn’t guarantee 60,000 magical moments,” said Chris Bajda, founder of GroomsDay. “We’re seeing more couples ditch the ‘bigger is better’ mindset and focus on what really matters – celebrating their love in ways that feel authentic to them, regardless of the price tag.”
The study highlighted that Long Island’s wedding costs are nearly 70% higher than the national average of $34,679. The analysis factored in all key components of a wedding, from the ceremony and reception to transportation, the tuxedo, and the wedding dress.
While Long Island tops the list, wedding costs vary significantly across the U.S. In contrast, couples in Salt Lake City, Utah, could save considerably, with the average wedding price being just $27,210.
