Cuban Erick Hernández has set a new world record for ball control, achieving an astounding 13,985 touches in one hour using various parts of his body. The feat took place at the Copacabana Hotel in Havana, where Hernández, a former footballer, surpassed the previous record of 11,901 touches held by Mexico’s Abraham Muñoz. Hernández, 58, ensured proper validation this time with international referees and complete photographic documentation after a previous attempt was not recognized by Guinness World Records.
The event required significant preparation due to its intensity, as noted by Hernández in a statement to JIT. This record adds to his already remarkable career, which includes balancing a ball for over three hours while seated, setting another world record just weeks earlier. This achievement marks Hernández’s 80th world record, solidifying his legacy in the sport of ball control.
