Martin Garrix has once again claimed the title of the world’s top DJ, marking his fifth time atop DJ Mag’s prestigious ranking. The 28-year-old Dutch DJ received the award during the Amsterdam Dance Event, presented by Armin van Buuren, who placed sixth this year and holds the record for the most wins, a feat now equaled by Garrix.
Garrix replaces David Guetta, who held the title last year and is now in second place. Previously, Garrix secured the top spot in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2022. Speaking to DJ Mag, Garrix expressed his gratitude and amazement at being listed alongside his idols like van Buuren and Tiësto, calling the achievement surreal.
Seven of the top 20 DJs in the ranking hail from the Netherlands, further cementing the country’s influence in the global electronic music scene. Garrix, who shot to fame as a teenager with his hit “Animals,” has since collaborated with major artists like Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Usher, and U2.
