Joel Spears, a resident of Tiverton and known as “CaffeineMan” on YouTube, has claimed the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of energy drink cans. Spears, who regularly reviews energy drinks on his YouTube channel, amassed a collection exceeding 1,019 unique cans.
“I never thought I would have a Guinness World Record for anything,” Spears shared. “The channel took off, and I just kept collecting cans. One day, I wondered, ‘How many do I actually have?’ I counted them all, and it turned out to be a world record.”
Spears, who applied for the record in January, described the lengthy process he had to complete before receiving official confirmation. “I had to videotape the entire collection, take photos of each can, and then make a detailed itemized list of every single one,” he explained. “Typing up that list was time-consuming, but it was worth it.”
Spears started his YouTube channel six years ago, aiming to review energy drinks and educate the public on caffeine safety. He typically consumes one to two energy drinks daily but also stays hydrated with tea and water. “There are so many energy drinks out there that I never get tired of trying new ones,” he added.
Spears’ record-setting collection highlights his dedication to his unique passion, while his channel continues to grow as a go-to source for energy drink reviews and caffeine education.
