Magnus Carlsson, a 51-year-old Swedish motorcycle enthusiast, has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking a Guinness World Record for the fastest wheelie with a steering wheel. On a KTM 1290 Super Duke motorcycle, Carlsson reached an impressive speed of 202.67 km/h (125.93 mph) while performing the daring maneuver at Skövde Airport in Sweden.
This incredible achievement sets a new benchmark in the world of motorcycling, as Carlsson became the first person to exceed 200 km/h in this category. The previous record, set in 2020, was 175.785 km/h (109.228 mph), marking Carlsson’s accomplishment as a significant leap in wheelie performance.
In an interview with Guinness World Records, Carlsson shared his passion for the stunt: “The wheelie with the steering wheel is my absolute favorite maneuver, and one that has attracted the most attention during my career. The first time I did a wheelie with a steering wheel was in 1992. Three years later, I made a record attempt at Skövde Airport in Sweden. Since several wheelie records have been documented by Guinness World Records over the years, I wanted to make an attempt while I still had the engine and the skills to break the 200 km/h mark,” he explained.
Carlsson’s record-breaking performance is a testament to his skill and determination, as well as his enduring love for motorcycle stunts.
