A Saudi Arabian collector has earned a Guinness World Record for amassing an extraordinary 3,053 items of memorabilia dedicated to The Walking Dead, the iconic comic book and TV franchise.
Rashid Al-Olayan, a resident of Dammam, has turned part of his home into a Walking Dead museum, showcasing a vast array of collectibles, including toys, books, games, statues, and artwork from the original comic series, AMC’s television adaptation, and its spin-offs.
I believe The Walking Dead franchise is the best out there,” Al-Olayan told Guinness World Records. “Who doesn’t love a zombie show? It’s the perfect show for me.”
Al-Olayan’s passion for the franchise began in 2015 when he purchased a set of action figures featuring Michonne—portrayed by Danai Gurira—and her pet zombies. Over the years, his collection has grown to include thousands of items, including screen-worn costumes from the series.
“The characters in the show and comic books are relatable,” he said. “You cheer for them and want them to survive, but the show is known for its unpredictability. Losing main characters is part of the appeal—it keeps you on the edge of your seat.”
Many items in Al-Olayan’s collection bear autographs from actors in the series. He hopes to one day secure signatures from Robert Kirkman, the writer and co-creator of the Walking Dead comics.
“As long as there are pieces I don’t have, I’m going to aim to get them all,” he declared. “My goal is to collect every single thing, and I won’t stop until I achieve it.”
Al-Olayan’s dedication not only cements his place in the record books but also underscores the enduring impact of The Walking Dead franchise on its devoted fanbase.
