Toyota’s AI-powered humanoid robot, CUE6, has officially set a new Guinness World Record for the longest basketball shot ever made by a robot, sinking a ball from an impressive distance of 24.55 meters (80 feet, 6 inches). For context, this distance is nearly the full length of a professional NBA court, which measures 29 meters (94 feet) from baseline to baseline.
CUE6’s remarkable achievement is made possible by advanced artificial intelligence algorithms, which enable the robot to learn from its errors and adapt its aiming technique for improved accuracy. The system allows CUE6 to recognize patterns and make real-time adjustments to its posture, arm positioning, and shot strength—much like a human athlete refining their skills during practice.
This is not the first time the Toyota robot has made headlines. Earlier, CUE6 set another Guinness World Record by making 2,020 consecutive free throws, solidifying its reputation as a groundbreaking achievement in robotics and AI.
