In a dazzling display that lit up the skies across the UAE, Al Ain has officially broken the Guinness World Record for the longest chain of fireworks. The spectacular event, which took place on December 2, 2024, marked the UAE’s 53rd National Day and wowed audiences with its record-breaking brilliance.
The fireworks stretched an impressive 11.1 kilometers, covering vast stretches of the city, and were launched from 51 platforms. Lasting 50 seconds, the breathtaking show left spectators in awe as it etched its name in history. The event was organized by Al Ain City Municipality, who celebrated not only this achievement but also their second Guinness World Record of the year, following their recognition in February for creating the largest bouquet of flowers.
This fireworks display is just one of several remarkable feats achieved by the UAE in recent months. Earlier in the year, Ras Al Khaimah set two Guinness World Records on January 1, 2024, with a stunning eight-minute-long fireworks and drone show. The Emirate set records for the longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks (5.8 km) and the longest straight-line drone display (2 km).
While the UAE’s National Day celebrations have concluded, fireworks enthusiasts will have another chance to witness extraordinary displays during the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations, which are known for their grandeur.
