Sherine Abdel-Wahab has made history by securing a Guinness World Record, having spent an impressive 11 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Arabic Artist 100 chart, according to the official Guinness World Records website.
The Egyptian megastar achieved this milestone with her hit songs “Kalam Eineh,” which held the top position, and “El-Watar El-Hassas,” which reached No. 2 on Billboard Arabia’s flagship charts. Notably, Sherine also became the first Arab artist to be recognized at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.
Billboard Arabia, launched in June 2023, aims to spotlight Arab artists and establish itself as the premier global platform for musicians with Arab roots. The platform adheres to the well-established standards set by Billboard over its eight-decade history, utilizing data from major digital streaming services like Spotify, Anghami, YouTube, and Apple Music to accurately reflect global preferences in Arab music.
Sherine first gained fame in 2002 with the release of her album “Tamer & Sherine,” a collaboration with Egyptian pop star Tamer Hosny. Since then, she has established herself as one of the leading female voices in Egypt and the broader Arab world, with over a dozen successful albums and numerous television and film credits.
Looking ahead, Sherine has several concerts scheduled, including performances in Kuwait City on October 29 and in Dubai, UAE, on December 13.
