Vitor Roque has praised Barcelona as the “best team in the world right now” following a challenging match where he scored against his parent club in a Copa del Rey clash on Wednesday. Roque, playing for Real Betis, netted a penalty in the second half, but his efforts were not enough to prevent a 5-1 defeat to Barcelona, who advanced to the competition’s quarter-finals.
Speaking after the match, Roque acknowledged Barcelona’s superior performance: “It was a very difficult match. Barça is at the level of the best team in the world right now. We didn’t have a good day. We tried, but it wasn’t possible,” he told reporters.
Despite Betis’ struggles, Roque remained positive, highlighting his personal achievement. “It’s very special to score here. Today I’m here as a Betis player, and I’m happy to score another goal with this shirt,” he added.
